Basic Rules
- All official Monopoly Mega Edition rules apply if they are not covered here.
- These rules are likely currently incomplete. They will be reviewed further later.
- Players start the draft with $2,000
- Prior to the draft, players may spend $500 to purchase a bench slot. This is the only time a bench slot will be purchaseable.
- After the draft, each player will be given $500 to add to whatever they have left from the draft.
- If you go broke, you are out of the league and all your properties and players will be dropped, and you will score points equal to your place for the EFFCS each week.
Game Play
- These stats will assume the league to be 8 man. It will scale for larger.
- 7th & 8th will get one turn with two D6’s
- 5th & 6th will get one turn with two D6’s and a D3
- 3rd & 4th will get one turn with two D6’s and one Monopoly Speed die
- 2nd gets two turns. One roll is with two D6’s and one Speed die. The other is with 2 D6’s, but can be forced onto another player with either 1 or 2 dice at their discretion.
- 1st gets two turns. Both rolls have two D6’s and a Speed die. The second can be forced onto another player with either 1 or 2 dice (but not speed die) at their discretion.
- In order of placement, you may choose to either take a turn, or wait. This happens after every roll.
- Extra turns can not be taken nor assigned until all players have gotten one turn.
- Trading is allowed, though a unanimous veto can stop a trade if it is very clearly designed to benefit only one of the players. If the commissioner is not a participant, the commissioner may override the veto. If they are a participant, then their no vote on the veto will prevent it from being unanimous.
- Vetos should be extremely, extremely rare. In the case of a veto, the game will stop until the commissioner has an opportunity to review the trade. One should be fairly handy during game play time.
Player Absence
- Monopoly Game Play will take place on Wednesday evening, except for Week 17, where it will happen immediately after MNF if all players are able, or Tuesday evening. Week 17 we will be flexible to ensure players don’t miss their final turn
- Players must be present to play. If they are not, the Commissioner will take their turn for them
- Every player will have a standing “buy” or “auction” order the commissioner will follow regardless of strategy if they land on a property that is for sale.
- Absent players can not participate in auctions
- Absent players will never make optional decisions, like to buy houses or pay to get off the exempt list
- Absent players will always choose to take their turn when given the opportunity, and if top 2, will chose to take both turns.
- If they end up with a choice to make in regards
Properties
- Stadium Lights and Grass Maintenance work the same as Electric Company and Water Works only the Payouts are 8x and 20x rather than 4x and 10x.
- Divisional Cards
- Have static payouts weekly. You get $10 from the bank for each winning team in the division.
- If all teams in the division win, the player receives double.
- If all teams in the division lose, they must put $10 per losing team in the tailgate party
- All divisional payouts happen before any players take any turns
- If a divisional card is actively used as a Wild Card, then you will only collect any money from that division when that team wins. If they lose, you get nothing.
- A player landing on an owned division will pay the stated rent on the card regardless if it is used as a wild card or not.
- Properties are arranged yearly based on draft pick order (excluding trades).
- Divisions are arranged yearly based on combined record. In the case of a tie, the division that contains the highest placing team.
- For purposes of houses and hotels, the properties are divided into 5 groups:
- Group one are the properties on the bottom of the board, and their houses are $50
- Group two are the properties on the left side of the board, and their houses are $100
- Group three are the red and yellow properties at the top, and their houses are $150
- Group four are the brown properties on the top and the green properties on the right. Their houses are $200
- Group five are the Grey and Blue properties on the right. Their houses are $250
Monopolies
- You can actually get Monopolies in two ways – either collecting all the teams in a group, or collecting all the teams in the division.
- If you own a property that makes both a group and divisional monopoly, that property is considered an Extremeopoly, and all payouts are double (if unimproved, it is 4x)
- Divisional Cards can work as Wild Cards to create Monopolies, either for Group or Divisional Monopolies.
- Once a player uses a Divisional Card as a wild card, that card can not be switched to another team unless you either purchase the property in question or something happens to cause you to break up that Monopoly by losing one of the properties you have.
- Houses and hotels work exactly the same as in monopoly. You must build evenly.
- You can not build on a Divisional Space. The Wild Card exists only to allow one to complete a monopoly
- If you use a Wild Card to complete a monopoly, improve it, then purchase the last property outright, you can not improve other properties in that group until you improve that one sufficiently
- If you get a Monopoly and put a hotel on any property in that Monopoly, you will get a bonus of 1 non-negotiable bench slot for as long as you have that hotel.
- You may only get 1 bench slot per hotel.
- In the case of an Extremeopoly, that property’s hotel can only count as a bench slot for the first monopoly you had. You must build a second hotel on a property in the new monopoly for a second bench slot.
The Board
Board is for illustrative purposes only for now. The locations of the teams and divisions will definitely change, and other spots may change.
